The Department of Science of KNU is a structural division of the university, carrying out coordination, organization and control of research works of the university.
The main objectives of the department are:
- development of research activity in KNU, creation of conditions for effective management of results of scientific activity in the interests of KNU, its employees, students, bachelors, masters, PhD, post-graduates and doctoral students, as well as provision of consulting and scientific and technical service in the research sphere.
- holding competitions of students' research works and the best scientific work of the university's teaching staff.
- processing incoming documentation, drafting responses and recommendations.
- Proposing and implementing improvements to the department to increase efficiency.
- execution of assignments of the Rector and Vice-Rector for Scientific Work, including organizational and administrative tasks.
- maintaining a system of accounting and monitoring of the results of scientific activity of the university, including data actualization.
- advising staff and students on intellectual property and research management, including contract research.
- planning, control and summarizing the results of R&D under the state order, preparation and holding of meetings of the scientific and technical council, execution of projects and preparation of annual reports.
- organizing and carrying out work on the creation, development and supervision of scientific schools, research institutes and scientific laboratories at the university.
- organization of conclusion and monitoring of licensing agreements, as well as other mechanisms for commercialization of intellectual property.
- assistance in attracting research contracts and grants from public and private foundations, as well as international organizations.
- organizing scientific events such as conferences, seminars and round tables to share knowledge and experience in the scientific field.
