The concepts of enterprise competitiveness, integration at the micro level and integration at the macro level have been clarified and systematized, which allows for a more detailed determination of the mechanisms of their influence on the development of the dairy industry.
The key factors influencing the level of competitiveness of dairy products of the Kyrgyz Republic both in the domestic market and within the framework of integration interaction with the EAEU countries have been identified.
Analysis and evaluation of export supplies of dairy products
A comprehensive analysis of the export potential of the dairy industry of the Kyrgyz Republic was conducted, and the main barriers (logistical, regulatory, technological) that hinder the effective entry of Kyrgyz dairy products into the EAEU markets were identified.
Criteria and indicators for assessing the effectiveness of export deliveries of dairy products have been developed, taking into account the requirements of partner countries in the EAEU, which allows for an objective assessment and forecast of the competitiveness of Kyrgyz producers in foreign markets.
Development of practical recommendations for increasing the competitiveness of the dairy industry of the Kyrgyz Republic
A set of measures has been proposed to modernize production processes at dairy industry enterprises, including the introduction of innovative processing technologies, digitalization of production accounting, and improvement of the product certification system.
Strategic directions for state support of the dairy industry have been developed, aimed at stimulating exports, improving the system of subsidies, tax incentives and lending to enterprises.
Recommendations have been formulated for the development of logistics infrastructure and the elimination of trade barriers within the EAEU, which will increase the availability of Kyrgyz dairy products on international markets and strengthen the competitive positions of national producers.
Personal contribution of the applicant.
Testing the results of the dissertation. The main provisions and conclusions of the dissertation research were presented and discussed at round tables, seminars, as well as national and international scientific and practical conferences, including on May 6, 2025 at the international scientific and practical conference “Sustainable Development of Higher Education Institutions within the Framework of the EU Erasmus+ Programs”.

Relevance of the research topic. The food processing industry plays a key role in ensuring food security and sustainable economic development of Kyrgyzstan. In the context of deepening integration into the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the competitiveness of enterprises in this sector is becoming an important factor not only for the domestic market, but also for expanding export opportunities.
The relevance of the study is due to the following factors:
1. The economic importance of the dairy industry for the Kyrgyz Republic. The dairy industry is one of the key sectors of the agro-industrial complex of Kyrgyzstan, providing employment for a significant part of the rural population and contributing to the country's export potential. Increasing the competitiveness of enterprises in this industry helps to strengthen the country's economy and increase incomes of the population.
2. Integration into the EAEU. Kyrgyzstan's accession to the EAEU opened up new opportunities for the export of dairy products, but at the same time forced enterprises in the industry to meet stricter quality requirements and standards in force in the markets of the Union member states. This requires enterprises to modernize production, introduce innovations and improve management efficiency.
3. Competition in international markets. In the EAEU markets, Kyrgyz producers face competition from more developed dairy industries in other member countries, such as Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. To successfully enter these markets, it is necessary to improve product quality, reduce costs and develop branding.
4. Insufficient study of the problem. Despite the importance of the dairy industry for the Kyrgyz economy, issues of increasing its competitiveness and the efficiency of export deliveries to the EAEU markets remain insufficiently studied. This determines the need for a comprehensive study aimed at identifying key problems and developing practical recommendations.
The dairy industry of Kyrgyzstan has significant potential for growth, given the availability of natural resources, traditional livestock farming methods and growing demand for dairy products in the EAEU countries. However, at present, enterprises face a number of problems, including low productivity, insufficient technological equipment, non-compliance with partner countries' requirements for product quality and safety, as well as the complexity of logistics and certification. Improving the competitiveness of the dairy industry requires the introduction of modern technologies, improved management of production processes, diversification of export supplies and adaptation to the regulatory requirements of the EAEU. In this context, the study of ways to improve the efficiency of export supplies and the development of strategies for the competitive development of the dairy industry in Kyrgyzstan is extremely relevant.
This dissertation is aimed at analyzing the current state of the dairy industry, identifying key barriers and formulating recommendations for overcoming them. The results of the study will be useful for manufacturers, government agencies and experts working in the field of agro-industrial complex and international trade.
To solve the problems of increasing the competitiveness of the food processing industry on the basis of internal growth factors, its large-scale modernization is necessary, based on the introduction of advanced technologies and management methods, but also with a gradual increase in its own innovative potential. The success of borrowing and applying modern technologies and methods depends on the absorption capacity of the national industry, its industry structures and non-financial organizations to recognize the value of new external information, assimilate it and use it for commercial purposes. This is the goal that should be set when there is a lack of incentives for the accelerated development of knowledge-intensive industries, the factors of non-competitiveness of industries that determine the acceleration of scientific and technological progress are identified, and the formation of an adequate macroeconomic environment for the successful implementation of the competitive advantages of high-tech segments of the national economy based on its modernization is slow or absent.
However, despite numerous studies by domestic and foreign scientists, many theoretical and methodological provisions on the competitiveness of food processing enterprises and its modernization remain controversial, poorly adapted to the conditions of the Kyrgyz economy and modern trends in socio-economic development, which cannot but negatively affect the effectiveness of practical steps taken in this area.
Thus, the study of ways to improve the competitiveness of dairy enterprises in Kyrgyzstan and the effectiveness of their export deliveries to the markets of the EAEU countries is relevant and timely, since it is aimed at solving important economic problems facing the country.
The connection of the dissertation topic with priority scientific areas, major scientific programs (projects), main research works carried out by educational and scientific institutions. The topic of the dissertation research is related to the implementation of the National Development Strategy of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2018-2040, the Program for the Development of the Food and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2023-2027, the Concept of Innovative Modernization of Economic Development of the Kyrgyz Republic for the period up to 2035, the Sustainable Development Goals in the Kyrgyz Republic (Goal 8), the Program for the Development of Agricultural Cooperation in the Kyrgyz Republic for 2023-2027, the Business Development Program of the Kyrgyz Republic until 2026, the Program “Financing of Entrepreneurship Entities”, the National Economic Project “One Village - One Product”.
The purpose and objectives of the dissertation research. The purpose of the dissertation research is to develop scientifically based approaches and practical recommendations for increasing the competitiveness of enterprises of the food processing industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, with an emphasis on the dairy industry, as well as assessing the effectiveness of export deliveries of dairy products to the markets of the EAEU countries.
In accordance with the purpose of the study aimed at analyzing the competitiveness of enterprises of the dairy industry of the Kyrgyz Republic and developing measures to improve it, the following tasks were formulated:
— to determine the role and importance of increasing the competitiveness of enterprises for the country's economy;
to study the essence and content of the competitiveness of enterprises in the modern market;
to consider integration as the main means of increasing the competitiveness of enterprises;
to analyze modern approaches and world experience in assessing the competitiveness of enterprises;
study the current state and identify the main trends in the development of the dairy industry of the Kyrgyz Republic;
assess the impact of trade and economic relations of the Kyrgyz Republic on the development of the competitiveness of the dairy industry;
analyze the level of development of integration processes in the agro-industrial complex of the dairy industry of the Kyrgyz Republic;
compare trends in the development of dairy production in the EAEU countries and identify factors influencing the formation of the competitiveness of Kyrgyz dairy products;
determine the prospects for the development of the dairy industry of the Kyrgyz Republic and develop recommendations for increasing its competitiveness;
identify the main problems hindering the increase in the competitiveness of dairy enterprises in Kyrgyzstan;
develop recommendations and propose ways to increase the competitiveness of dairy enterprises in the Kyrgyz Republic, including state support, investment mechanisms and innovative strategies.
These tasks allow for a comprehensive study of the competitiveness of the dairy industry of Kyrgyzstan, identification of key barriers and development of strategic measures to strengthen it in the domestic and foreign markets.
The object of the study is the enterprises of the dairy industry of the food processing industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, which export to the markets of the EAEU countries.
The subject of the study is the mechanisms and factors for increasing the competitiveness of the dairy industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the efficiency of export deliveries of dairy products to the markets of the EAEU countries.
The scientific novelty of the obtained results of the dissertation lies in the development of an integrated approach to increasing the competitiveness of enterprises of the dairy industry of Kyrgyzstan and increasing the efficiency of their export deliveries to the markets of the EAEU countries, which contributes to the development of the theory and practice of managing the competitiveness of enterprises in the context of integration into international economic unions.
As part of the dissertation research, scientifically based approaches were developed and practical recommendations were proposed aimed at increasing the competitiveness of enterprises of the food processing industry of the Kyrgyz Republic and improving the mechanisms for export deliveries of dairy products to the markets of the EAEU countries. Key elements of scientific novelty include:
1. Theoretical substantiation of the competitiveness of the dairy industry of the Kyrgyz Republic
The concepts of competitiveness of a food processing enterprise, integration at the micro level, and integration at the macro level have been clarified.
Key factors determining the level of competitiveness of dairy products of the Kyrgyz Republic in domestic and foreign markets have been identified. The most important of these are the high quality of raw materials and the stability of their supplies, which is ensured by the development of farms and agricultural cooperation. The level of technological equipment of processing enterprises plays a significant role, allowing to reduce costs and improve the quality of products. An important condition for entering the EAEU markets is the compliance of products with international quality and safety standards. Developed logistics and export infrastructure, including refrigeration capacities and transport chains, are also necessary. State support in the form of subsidies, benefits, and export promotion programs contributes to increasing competitiveness. Active marketing, the formation of national brands, participation in exhibitions, as well as the availability of qualified personnel and effective management remain significant factors. Cooperation within agro-industrial clusters, investment inflow and access to financial resources ensure sustainable development of the industry and expansion of export opportunities.

Recommendations were formed for the development of logistics infrastructure and the elimination of trade barriers, which helps improve the position of Kyrgyz dairy products in the EAEU markets.
Practical significance of the obtained results. The recommendations developed in the study to improve the competitiveness and efficiency of export deliveries can be directly implemented by enterprises of the dairy industry of Kyrgyzstan. The results of the study can be used in the development of state programs to support the food processing industry, as well as in the activities of enterprises of the dairy industry to improve their competitiveness and expand export deliveries.
Economic significance of the results. The implementation of the proposed measures to improve the competitiveness and efficiency of export deliveries will lead to an increase in the volume of dairy exports from Kyrgyzstan to the EAEU markets. This will contribute to the growth of enterprise income and an increase in foreign exchange earnings in the country. The development of the dairy industry and an increase in production and export volumes will create additional jobs both in enterprises and in related industries (logistics, agriculture, services).

The results of the study can be used by government agencies to develop programs to support the export of dairy products, which includes measures for financial support, infrastructure development, harmonization of standards and promotion of national products in international markets.
